Digital Diagnostics is proud to have participated in Pennsylvania Diabetes Day, a statewide initiative to combat preventable vision loss by offering diabetic retinopathy (DR) exams across the state.
Our participation in this impactful event was made possible through our collaboration with three healthcare institutions across Pennsylvania: St. Luke’s University Health Network, UPMC, and Penn Medicine.
DR is a common complication of diabetes that can lead to vision loss if left undiagnosed. However, as few as 15% of people living with diabetes receive an annual eye exam to check for DR. Pennsylvania Diabetes Day aims to address this gap by making DR exams more accessible.
In addition to traditional exam methods 43 individuals received DR exams using LumineticsCore®, Digital Diagnostics’ AI-powered solution for DR diagnosis at the point-of-care—some for the very first time. By the end of the day, several patients had received a DR diagnosis, giving them the chance to take life-changing next steps for their vision and health. The success of this event is a testament to the power of partnerships and innovation in advancing patient care.
At Digital Diagnostics, we believe every patient deserves access to ethical, dependable care. We’re honored to support initiatives like this one that help expand access to sight-saving diagnostics.
